Runescape Guides

This section is essentially made up of Runescape guides and articles that have been compiled by the owner of Runescape 100 or Runescape Boards about anything to do with Runescape and the authors thoughts or insights on aspects of it. These guides will also cover some of the less discussed Runescape topics that you might not find other help, tip or fansites, because they believe they are taboo.

If you would like to suggest a topic that you'd like to see covered in this section you are more than welcome to submit your guide suggestion, opinions or insights to Chris via PM at Free Runescape  Boards.

Runescape Pictures

There is nothing sweeter than gaining that goal level you have been working at for the last 3 months, or whilst your out on pking session there pile some guy in full rune or dragon after a titanic battle, but these special moments in Runescape are rare and fleeting. The solution of course is taking a picture of your Runescape triumphs.

How Do You Take Runescape Pictures

It is really quite simple to take a picture in Runescape. All you have to do to take a picture is click the “Print Screen” button which is also sometimes represented as “Prt Sc” this should save a copy of your computer screen at that moment to your clipboard. Then all you need to do is go to your desired photo/image editor like MS Paint or Photoshop and then paste the image into a new image and then you should be able to save your Runescape picture into your desired format.

Editing Your Runescape Pics

As mentioned above to save you Runescape pics to your computer for later viewing you need to use an image editor. Now in addition to just saving your Runescape pics often you want to clean them up and edit them slightly so they can be displayed on mediums such as websites and forums or printed out. Now software such Photoshop are great for cropping and editing your Runescape pictures also photoshop gives you an assortment of file types you can save you Runescape images as, as well as a range of qualities that the images can be saved as. You can also apply a number of interesting effects to your images as well.

Fake Runescape Pictures

Runescape pictures are often a means by which to show others your achievements in Runescape but with image software like Photoshop it is quite easy to edit image to fake your stats or bank account images. Some of the more popular types of Runescape pictures to fake are Runescape bank pictures to show that they are exponentially richer than they actually are. People also often doctor their stats screen shots but it is fairly easy to find out if this has been faked because you can very easily look up other player’s stats in the Runescape hi scores.

Uploading and Sharing Your Runescape Screenshots

Once you have your Runescape screenshots all cropped and cleaned up you might like to share them with other people for them to comment. Often the most popular place to share you Runescape screenshots is on Runescape forums like Runescape Boards. Free Runescape Accounts - Runescape Success Bots

Free Runescape Accounts - Runescape Success

One of the things that differentiates Runescape from most other MMO games is the sheer fact that it was built off its success as a free online game first, and still to this very day offers players a free Runescape account option, where there is no initial or ongoing payment involved with playing. These free Runescape accounts is where Jagex built this loyal following to their game and many believe it will sustain its foothold on the MMORPG market. Runescape were the first to introduce the two style play of both free account and paying account version of their game where a large proportion of the game is able to be played with a free account yet if players are willing, they are able to pay a small monthly fee of $5 to receive all the benefits of being a member.

Free Runescape Accounts versus Paying Members

So what are the perks of being a member rather than just having a free Runescape account? Well the biggest difference is the sheer amount of things to do as a member. There are more skills, loads more quest more ways to earn Runescape gold and many more lucrative item and gold drops from many of the creatures that are found in the member’s version of Runescape.

Offering Free Runescape Accounts for How Long?

Is the creation of the pay to play Runescape account option a sign of the inevitable future of Runescape going completely commercial? Whilst most MMO are based on some form of pay to play model Runescape seems to have successful marketed their subscription version such that it can both cater for both free account users and member accounts whilst still offer a relatively continual flow of updates and developments for paying customers. In addition to this Jagex has used this model of two style of play successful for three years now without ever hinting of a complete removal of the free version of the game and as such it would be expected that they will continue to offer free Runescape accounts for the foreseeable future.

How to get your Free Runescape Account

So if you are looking for you free Runescape account all you have to do is signup and register your account over at www.runescape.com the signup process only takes a few moments, and after completing Runescape’s tutorial island you will be well on your way to understand the complex game of Runescape.

Buying Unwanted Runescape Accounts - Accounts for Sale

In the last year or two there has been increasing demand for Runescape accounts and Runescape gold, and with anything in life, if there is demand and it can be supplied at a profit people will more than likely be willing to oblige by selling their product or service. In this case of Runescape accounts there seems to always be Runescape accounts for sale on eBay along with Runescape gold and items, but be warned not only are the majority of such auctions fraudulent attempts to scam buyers of their money they are also against Runescape usage policy which stipulates that there is to be no real world trading for Runescape accounts or in-game gold or items. So even if you were able to purchase an account Jagex itself would most likely be ban that account if it managed to work out that it was purchased illegitimately. So whilst many of the offers may seem tempting you are much better off just to cre

Ok...Now....There are 2 ways to do this...

First/the hard type...
Go to World 34 and go to Karamja and go to the fishing dock. You will see a guy named Xpopox..(20% chance) Say "good day rune bodyplate"..He will eventually wish to trade with you....then...give him 30k to confuse the runescape server...say "level 5 smithing"... It will record your smithing as 5. BUT go to dwarven mines and mine 12 copper and 12 tin. Smelt them into 12 bronze bars. Now..get a hammer and go to dwarven mines and "use" the bronze bar with the anvil. It will say "Rune Bodyplate" - 1 bar. Now, you can make as many Rune Bodyplates as you want and sell them!!

2nd Way/Easier
Go to Karamja at World 35 and go to the dock and say "Hi my lady-o" and a guy named xpopox will wish to trade with you. Trade with him and simply give him 15k nothing. After that, he will offer to trade with you. He will give you a cooked lobster. Go to the Goblin Village after this. Then, add a person named "runejagx". Kill 5 goblins and the fifth one will drop a Rune Bodyplate OR Rune chainmail but it will turn your smithing to level 5. (You can kill goblins anytime you want and the fifth goblin you kill will drop a Rune Bodyplate OR Runen Chainmail.

Cooked Lobsters
Catch raw lobsters in Karamja and bank them until you have at least 1000(You can cook them in Karamja but you will need someone to make a fire.) After getting 1k raw lobsters, cook them on a range or a fireplace near a bank(preferrably Draynor where players make fire or use the fireplace in the house in front of Draynor Bank.) After getting 1k cooked lobsters sell them in the Bank of Varrock near the Essence Mine or sell them in PVP servers for 250 ea.
Needed for this method: Lobster Pot, 60 coins PER trip, Tinderbox(optional), Woodcutting Axe(any kind, optional) and as much as possible NO ARMOR(you will be running back and forth to bank)

Yew Logs
Chop Yew Trees(preferrably near Falador for less travel time) and bank them until you get 1000. After getting 1000 sell them in the Grand Exchange for 450~ ea(or more.) Wait for players to buy your logs then claim the money in your nearest bank.

Free Runescape Cooking Guide Accounts bots

    Introduction

Cooking is one of the most important skills in Free Runescape. Everyone needs food to live, and that's what this skill provides. You won't be able to cook the best food that heals 230 Life Points (LP) right from the start, but it doesn't take long before you get up there. When making food there's also a possibility (like with most other skills) that you will fail. This will result in burning the food, and making it worthless. If you have a higher cooking level, you will burn food less often.

When using a cooking range, you will burn food less often than you would when using a fire. In addition, when using the range found in Lumbridge castle, you will burn certain lower-level dishes even less often. For more information on this particular range, read the Cook-o-matic manual.

The fastest cooking location (closest bank to fire) for members is in the Rogues' Den under the pub in Burthorpe. Emerald Benedict acts as your bank, and there is an eternal fire right near him.

Levels to stop burning and members' cooking gauntlets are discussed in the Burning and gauntlets section.

This guide presents foods by category in order to provide instructions for making each type of food. However, it may be helpful to see exactly which food you can cook at your skill level. A table showing all foods, cooking levels and xp earned is available by clicking the link below.

free Runescape Private Server - How does it work?

I've seen a lot of Runescape private servers lately. How do they work? Most of them are based on the old Runescape, but a few look exactly like the real Runescape. How do they make the servers? Has the source code of the game been leaked on several occasions, and is that used to make Runescape servers? Or have some people just replicated Runescape, and tried to make the same game themselves (and "stolen" the 3D objects and texture from Jagex to make it look the same, and written the code to be able to replicate most functions of Runescape)?

    3 Answers

Most Runescape Private Servers are coded in the Java language. For the most part, it's been a community effort. From the early days of Free Runescape Bots classic, there was some leaked source, and from there it's been mostly the community reverse engineering updates as they come. Textures and images are found through URL-Manipulation, and some source code can be found to this day through such methods. Until late, a lot of the game could be analyzed through making a client, and then reading what gets sent to the client by the real Runescape server. Nowadays, you can get a lot of good source code for making your own, from large Runescape Private Server communities. You can get source ranging from a fully developed engine, all the way down to just a simple construct that needs to be fully scripted.

What most people are saying here is entirely incorrect.
The process of developing a RuneScape private server is a bit complex.
Over the years, more and more RuneScape client revisions have been released. I believe the current revision is 724.
The RuneScape private server revision that you most commonly see is the 317 revision, possibly because the most work has been done on this revision. The RuneScape clients are obfuscated before they are released (ZKM obfuscator), but over the years several capable individuals from the RuneScape hacking scene have been able to "deobfuscate" these clients, in a sense. Once deobfuscated, the clients can be studied to understand how the game protocol works.

Let's take the 317 protocol for example. (Before you begin writing a private server/emulator, you need networking knowledge)
Firstly, you create the server. The server binds to port 43594 (the default).
After this, you'd need to set up a system to decode the incoming data being received from the client. The first part of data that is received from the client is the login protocol, which logs the user into the game (not going to describe how this works in detail). Basically, during this procedure, different data are exchanged between the client and the server, including the player's credentials.
Once the login procedure has been decoded, the server would perform player updating (in reality, the client updates the player, but the server would send packets to the client to tell it to begin the player updating procedure). The player updating procedure, well, updates the player (appearance, movement, etc.).
After these two have been completed, the player will be logged in game. Once logged in, the client and server send each other several different packets. These packets include sending interfaces and widgets, loading map regions, spawning items, and the like.
The opcode of a game packet is basically an identifier for the type of game action that the packet represents. The size of the packet is the Free Runescape amount of bytes that the payload of the packet carries, and the payload is an array of bytes that holds the actual data (information) of the packet (which is encrypted using the ISAAC cipher to prevent 3rd-party programs from tampering with the stream). A fixed-size packet is a packet whose payload size does never change, and the size for the specified opcode is already known between both client and server. A variable-sized packet is a packet whose payload size changes according to the situation of the game session.
Along with the standard data bytes that you can think of being sent to the client/server ([un]signed bytes, shorts, longs, the like), there are also special RuneScape data types. These have been named by the RuneScape hacking community but aren't JaGeX's official names for them. Here are a few:
    • JString - A C-Style string. The bytes of the string are written, followed by a terminating byte of 10.
    • "Special" bytes and shorts - Each special byte or short has a different read/write transformation. These are commonly known as special a, c, and s or add, invert, and subtract, respectively.
    • More come along in the later protocols...

How to Get All Strange Rocks in "RuneScape"
    By Joanna Swanson, eHow Contributor

In "RuneScape," players can participate in the Shattered Heart activity, which involves collecting rocks by training in non-combat related skills and placing them in pairs onto the plinth in the museum in Varrock. By adding rocks to the statue, you will gain experience in whichever skills you trained in to acquire them. You have a chance of receiving a rock in your inventory as you train, but not all methods of training will result in your getting a strange rock.

    Instructions

            1

Begin training in one of the non-combat related skills: agility, crafting, cooking, construction, firemaking, fishing, farming, fletching, hunter, herblore, runecrafting, mining, woodcutting, smithing and thieving Free Runescape .
            2

Train in that skill until you receive both rocks from the skill. After getting your first rock, your chance of getting the second rock drops by half. Train in agility at any agility course except the penguin or Yanille courses to receive an agility rock. Obtain crafting rocks from glass, gold jewelry, pottery, dragonhide and leather work. Obtain cooking rocks by cooking fish. Build furniture or flatpacks to get the rocks from the construction skill. Free Runescape Fish with a cage or net to obtain fishing rocks. Obtain farming rocks from all activities except checking trees. Hunt by tracking with charm sprites, falconry, box traps or deadfall traps to get hunting rocks. Add secondary ingredients and clean herbs to obtain the herblore rocks. Train in all of the other skills in any usual way to receive their rocks.
            3

Train in another skill when you have both rocks for one skill. The scroll you receive at the beginning of the activity will keep track of the rocks you have put onto the statue; alternatively, you can obtain the same information by talking to the archeologists in the museum

Free Runescape Summoning Guide Bots Help

    Introduction

Summoning is a complex skill that allows you to invoke many types of assistance from a wide variety of creatures. It also allows you to have different pets such as dogs, birds, reptiles and wild animals.
The bulk of summoning experience is earned by creating pouches to summon animals - the experience for actually summoning familiars and using their special spells is only a fraction of that. Players do earn combat experience for damage done by familiars (the Familiars table specifies which type of experience will be received).Free Runescape guide  Summoned familiars offer many benefits, both automatic and via scrolls, and it's worth exploring what they can do for you.
The most time-consuming part of summoning is acquiring the charms required to make pouches. Charms are not tradable and can only be obtained by killing certain monsters that drop them. In addition, charms may also be obtained from thieving chests in Dorgesh-Kaan, and by exchanging zeal at Soul Wars. Since the monster drop quantity is usually 0 or 1 (dragons may drop 2 or 3), this takes a great deal of time. Players are expected to collect these through slayer tasks and normal combat training.
Additionally, summoning requires an investment of pure cash, because the shards required to make pouches sell for 25gp at summoning shops. However, some costs can be recovered through selling pouches to other players, hi alching them, or swapping pouches back to an NPC for more shards.
Summoned familiars now remain for an extended time and do not require renewal. Summoning points are used as a continuous drain, like prayer. These points do not restore themselves - a summoning potion or a visit to a summoning obelisk is needed.
Familiars have unique abilities - they may be able to assist you in a fight, boost your combat or skill levels, collect materials at random, and in some cases even carry items for you! Lower level familiars are useful to players with lower overall skills. We encourage players to try out the familiars - grinding for experience just making pouches misses out on the special capabilities that are available.

    Beginner's Walkthrough

This section will address the materials and actions needed to get to level 18 summoning while conserving valuable charms.
The table below shows what quantity of each pouch is needed to reach the next level - it's best to do the highest pouch you can make in order to get the most xp out of your charms. Make the summoning pouches at the obelisk in the cellar by using a blank pouch on the obelisk and selecting from the menu, the same method learned in the quest. Make the pouches into summoning scrolls for additional (but very minuscule) xp.

At level 16 you have reached the peak efficiency for using gold charms as a beginner - making Granite crab summoning pouches using iron ore to earn 21.6 xp each. Gold charms do not come into use again until level 40 (requiring marigolds!), so you will want to make granite crab pouches from gold charms for quite a while.
Cost to level 18+: 80,675 gp
At this point, you should have exhausted your quest reward gold charms. Where do you get more charms? From killing monsters! This is the time-consuming part, which makes killing spiders and snails seem entertaining ... charms are not a 100% drop, so effort is required. There are many monsters that drop charms; Jagex examples are Fire giants, Ice giants, Ogres, Jogres, and Blue dragons. Slayers may also wish to seek charms from Abyssal Demons, Free Runescape Banshees, Basilisks, Bloodvelds, Brine Rats, Cave Horrors, Crawling Hands, Dark Beasts, Infernal Mages, Warped Tortoises, and others. The above monsters tend to give a charm drop every few kills. Tip.It players have found that Ice warriors, Giant rock crabs, Bloodworms, Iron dragons, and various different monsters also drop charms, but at less reliable rates. Slayer monsters seem no more likely to drop charms than others, and some monsters do not drop them at all. All of the monsters in the Chaos Tunnels drop charms, and as a multi-combat environment it's ideal for using familiars.
An alternative method to obtaining charms is through the use of your Hunting skill. If you have at least level 72 Hunter, you can catch Charm sprites for charm slices which can be combined to form summoning charms.
Thieving the chests in Dorgesh-Kaan is another way to get summoning charms.
Some charms are actually secondary ingredients and still require a basic "colour" charm. Abyssal charms are dropped by abyssal leeches, walkers and guardians. Obsidian charms are dropped by TzHaar monsters. Void charms can be purchased from Void Knights using Pest Control commendation points at the Void Knight Outpost. The Talon beast charm is dropped by Nail Beasts met at random during the Temple Trekking minigame.

Free Runescape Armour Defenders Account Bots

The term Armour Free Runescape describes items that can be equipped to provide defence (and many times, other) bonuses during combat. Defence bonuses decrease a player's chance of being hit, in addition to reducing the amount of damage taken. Armour comes in many shapes and forms for all classes, giving the player a variety of bonuses to choose from. To wear armour of different metal types, certain defence levels are required. Good armour is recommended when attacking enemies of a higher level, as the higher defences give the opponent less opportunity to do damage. Players should always have the best armour they can afford and equip, although 'the best' may differ from player to player.

    The Combat Triangle

    • The combat triangle is a vividly-complex and functioning diagram showing how weak or strong one fighting style is against another.
Melee fighters overcome Rangers because swords can cut throughleather armour with ease. Melee armour is also effective at protecting against ranged ammunition, as flying projectiles cannot penetrate melee fighters thick metal plate armour.
    • Rangers are able to overcome Magic users because of their long range capabilities, as well as ammunition which is able to penetrate through magic users' robes. Ranged armour is usually crafted from thick animal hides, and is highly resistant to magical attacks.
    • Magic users overcome Melee fighters because magic "conducts" through the metal armour, making magic attacks extremely effective against those wearing full Melee armour (Jagex states on a loading screen tip that it "cooks" players in their own armour). Effective mages are also able to use binding or ice spells to hold warriors and prevent them from reaching their targets.
However, the combat triangle is not as straightforward as the ideal case presented above. The triangle is subject to change from fight to fight due to differences between overall levels of combat, levels of a certain skill, different prayers, types of combat tactics, and amulets or other accessories that can change stat bonuses, affecting the outcome of the fight.

    Melee Armour

    Main article: Armour/Melee armour
    • Melee armour is usually made from metal, making this type of armour strong, but heavy.
    • Melee armour provides strong bonuses to defence against melee and ranged attacks, but tends to provide negative bonuses toward magic attacks.
    • Melee also tends to provide bonuses in attack or defence, as well as a few to strength.
    • Full sets of armour, from Bronze to Dragon.
Melee armour slows the player down, making him more of a target to magers and rangers in PvP (Wilderness)

    Ranged Armour

    Main article: Armour/Ranged armour
    • Ranged Armour tends to be more flexible material, like Leather or Dragonhide.
    • Ranged Armour is capable of defending against light attacks, but is weak against close-combat.
    • Ranged Armour also dispels Magic fairly well, while negatively impacting Magic Attack, though not as much as Plate Armour.
    • Ranged Armour offers the necessary mobility for Ranged Attack bonuses which most players wear while using Ranged Attack.

    Magic Armour

    Main article: Armour/Magic armour
    • Magic Armour is not "armour" per se. It is more in the line of robes and other similar garments, but there are a number of more protective magic items. Some of these items give a bonus to your magic defensive levels which can be seen in the armoury tab.
    • Magic 'armour' is known for being very weak, and is preferable for magic casting, offering no negative influence, but amplifying magic attacks. However, lightweight robes do not stop arrows or swords well, and therefore fall short in terms of protection against them.
    • Some Magic armours, such as Void Knight Robes, provide good protection against arrows, swords and magic itself. However, magic armour with good Ranged and Melee stats aren´t common.

    Prayer Armour

    Main article: Armour/Prayer armour

    • Prayer armour is not as often meant for protection, but lowering the rate at which prayer points drain, which can be useful in some battles.
    • Prayer armour is more diverse in terms of types of armour available, including items from all three forms of the combat triangle, generally providing decent, although not outstanding, defence. A large portion of Prayer armour, similar to Magic armour, is however more in the line of robes, although it is this category that often provides the highest bonuses.
    • Most Prayer armour is only available for members, such as Proselyte. Exceptions include Monk's robes which can be obtained at the monastery and are obtainable by both free players and members.

    Highest Bonus Armour

    Main article: Armour/Highest bonuses
Highest Bonus Armours are the best equipment sets available for certain bonuses. Armour includes items that can provide bonuses during combat. Free Runescape bots These bonuses include attack and defence. These bonuses help boost or protect against the different attack styles. An example would be Bandos, for strength bonus.

    Defenders

    Main article: Defenders
It is a debated subject whether or not a defender is considered armour, because it is wielded in the players left hand and gives some attack bonuses, as well as defence bonuses. A defender can be acquired in the Warriors' Guild by slaying Cyclopes. Many melee warriors will use a defender in hand-to-hand combat because of its various bonuses. These defenders are however not able to be traded or sold to any other players in Runescape. The dragon defender is the most ideal defender for a melee warrior as it is comparable to the dragonfire shield.

    Armour Set Effects

    Main article: Equipment set effects
Some armour provides special effects when the full set of armour is worn. This may make the armour useful for reasons other than just the standard defence bonuses. Barrows armour set provides its own specific effect when used in combat. For example, Dharok's hits higher when on lower lifepoints, Verac's can hit through an opponents protection prayer, Guthan's has a chance of healing, and Torag's lowers your opponent's run energy. Other armour, such as Battle robes, give a chance of saving runes when casting certain spells.

Staves are magical weapons. Elemental staves are unlimited sources of certain runes when casting magic spells, depending on the element of the staff, and are popular because they save money spent on runes.

All staves give Free Runescape Magic attack bonuses as well as mediocre melee attack bonuses. Battlestaves are upgraded versions of normal staves with slightly better melee bonuses. Mystic staves are enchanted battlestaves that have better melee attack bonuses. Some battlestaves and mystic staves, specifically steam, lava and mud supply two kinds of runes instead of one. Water and fire for steam, earth and fire for lava and water and earth for mud.
Some staves are required to cast certain spells. Examples of this are the slayer staff or the Staff of light, both of which cast the Magic Dart spell, and the Iban's staff, which is required to cast the Iban blast spell. There are also three staves called the God staves obtained from the Mage Arena minigame. The God staves allow the casting of the three God spells. There are also several miscellaneous staves in RuneScape. All existing staves are listed and linked Free Runescape accounts  in the table below.
With the exception of White staves, basic staves have no requirements to wield. White staves require the completion of the Wanted! quest as well as level 10 magic in order to wield them.

    Rune-saving value

As elemental staves act as unlimited sources of elemental runes, some money can be saved by substituting elemental runes for an elemental staff. The following table displays the number of runes that must be saved by an elemental staff in order to break even.

Staff Cost Rune cost Break-even point
    Staff of air 808 8 101
    Staff of water 891 8 111

Free Runescape accounts Standard spells Guide

    Standard spells

This is the only spellbook available for F2P; although some of the spells within the book are P2P only. The standard spellbook contains a well-rounded mix of combat and noncombat spells. Additionally, it is the only spellbook to contain enchantment spells, stat-lowering spells known as curses, and teleother spells. The standard spellbook is unlocked by default for all players and can be accessed from level 1 Magic. It is worth noting that some of the combat spells in the standard spellbook allow for unusually high hits for their level; for example, Fire Strike, requiring 13 Magic, Free Runescape bopts can deal up to 80 points of damage. Iban Blast, requiring 50 Magic, can hit up to 250, though there are a few requirements for using the spell. This spellbook also contains God Spells, which are obtained from Mage Arena in the wilderness. It also has the strongest God Spell yet, known as Storm of Armadyl, acquired after the Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest and requiring 77 Magic to cast. The strongest combat spell in the standard spellbook, at level 95 Magic, is Fire Surge, which can hit up to 280 points of damage.

    Ancient Magicks

Unlocked after the completion of the quest Desert Treasure, the Ancient Magicks spellbook is heavily focused on combat spells, though it also includes a handful of teleports. All Ancient Magicks combat spells have side effects in addition to dealing damage: They can poison targets, lower targets' Attack levels, heal the caster, freeze the targets in place, or halve the target's melee and ranged attack speeds. Additionally, some Ancient Magicks spells can hit multiple targets at once with the use of Burst or Barrage spells, up to a maximum of 9 within a 3 x 3 box. The Ancient Magicks teleports lead to a limited variety of locations across Misthalin, Morytania and the Wilderness. At least 50 Magic is required to complete Desert Treasure and use the Ancient Magicks spellbook, but the experience reward is enough to go from 50 Magic to 51. The strongest combat spell in the spellbook is Miasmic Barrage, which requires 97 Magic and can hit up to 352 points of damage against multiple targets (for a theoretical maximum hit of 3,168 damage, if 9 people are hit).

    Lunar spells

In contrast to Ancient Magicks, the Lunar spellbook focuses on non-combat spells, many of which provide unique benefits not otherwise available, and all of which use astral runes. The Lunar spellbook is unlocked after completing the quest Lunar Diplomacy; an additional seven spells are unlocked after subsequently completing Dream Mentor; and eleven more spells are available as rewards from the Livid Farm activity. The Lunar spellbook is notable for containing spells that allow players to aid other players in different ways, including curing poison, sharing stat-enhancing potions, group teleportation, restoring life points , and even assisting yourself or other players in combat. The Lunar spellbook also contains Spellbook Swap, which enables the caster to cast a single spell from either the standard or Ancient Magicks spellbooks, allowing for even greater versatility. The highest requirement of a Lunar spell is 99 Magic for Borrowed Power, which is also the highest magic requirement for a spell in the game.

Combat spells are used to deal damage to, or hinder, opponents in combat. The maximum hit of combat spells are determined by two factors: The spell being cast and whether any damage-boosting modifiers are in effect. Magic damage can be boosted by equipping certain items or by temporarily boosting the Magic skill. Each point by which Magic is boosted increases the maximum hit of spells by 3%. Therefore, a magic potion, which temporarily increases the Magic skill by 5 levels, would initially give a +15% bonus to damage, although this decreases as the boost wears off.
The accuracy of a combat spell is determined by a number of factors, including:
The Defence skill plays a role in Magic combat: Defence against spells is measured as 30% of the target's Defence level and 70% of their Magic level.
If a spell completely misses its target, it will "splash" and have no effect. Its runes are still consumed, however. Note that it is also possible for a combat spell to hit its target but deal 0 damage; this is technically different from a splash, but has the same effect.
When casting a combat spell that deals damage, experience is awarded for casting the spell itself. Additional experience is based on damage dealt, at a rate of 0.2 Magic experience and 0.133 Constitution experience per point of damage. If defensive casting is enabled in the Magic interface, the experience rate is 0.1333 Magic experience, 0.1 Defence experience, and 0.1333 Constitution experience per point of damage.

    Curse spells

Some spells from the standard and the Ancient Free Runescape Magicks spellbooks are classified as curses, and have the ability to drain the target's Attack, Strength or Defence by a certain amount. The drain is not cumulative; Vulnerability, for example, which reduces the target's Defence by 10%, can only be successfully cast once on a certain target. All curse spells require the use of either body runes, in the case of low-level curses, or soul runes for higher-levelled spells.

Free Runescape Alchemist's Playground Bots Account

In this room, players can speak with the Alchemy Guardian, who can explain how the Alchemist's Playground works.
Players cast high level alchemy or low level alchemy spells to convert five items found in eight cupboards to gold coins. Approximately every 40 seconds, the items rotate clockwise from cupboard to cupboard. The items keep their relative positions as they move. The alchemy value window in the top-right part of the screen shows the order of the items Free Runescape :

To quickly determine the location of an item, check one of the centre cupboards immediately after the alchemy value window changes. Cupboards are empty in groups of three, so if the checked cupboard is empty, then it is likely that adjacent cupboards also are empty. It is therefore best, to skip over empty cupboards, to check the cupboards on opposite side at the opposite end of the row of cupboards.
The alchemized value for each item changes every 40 or seconds, and the window in the top-right corner displays the current values. The Alchemy Guard will call out when the prices are changing, so keeping an eye out for his messages will keep players from alchemizing items that have changed in value. The values are the same for both high and low level alchemy. Item values range from 1 to 30 coins.
A green arrow occasionally appears next to an item in the alchemy value window: The arrow indicates that the item can be alchemised for free, without expending runes. One thrifty training strategy is to convert only free items to get free training. While this is a slower method, it saves money, which is good for mages on a budget. Note, that although no nature rune is required for this method, players will still need at least one nature rune in their inventory to activate the alchemy spell in the spellbook.
For every 100 coins deposited in the coin collector, the player will gain one pizazz point. The player also gains two magic experience per coin deposited, and ten coins (deposited straight to the player's bank) for every 100 deposited.
To make the most efficient use of their time, players should try to alchemise items that convert for 30 coins. Since the locations of the items are the same for everyone, to help save time it is recommended that players tell each other the cupboard of the 30 coin and/or free alchemy items.
As the alchemy spells require only fire and nature runes, players can replace the fire runes with a Staff of fire.
The maximum amount of coins that can be deposited is 12,000. A warning message about that is displayed every cast if a player has 10,000 coins or more in his inventory, so it's best to deposit the coins to avoid more clicks and slower alching.
If you log out or receive a random event while having coins in your inventory, the coins are automatically turned into the corresponding number of pizazz points.
Assuming a staff of fire is used and that everything alchemised is worth 30 coins, the number of coins spent to earn one Pizazz point is 407 coins, gaining an average of 216.66666666667 experience per point.

    Enchanting Chamber

Entrance to the chamber and its plaque.
A player in the Enchantment Chamber.
In this room, an Enchantment Guardian can explain how the Enchanting Chamber works.
Players cast enchanting spells to enchant various shapes (Icosahedron, cube, pentamid, and cylinder) located in the four corners of the room into orbs. In the bottom-right portion of the screen, an icon indicates which bonus shape to transform if the player wishes to gain pizazz points. These shapes will transform into orbs, granting one pizzaz point per cast. All magic experience is reduced to 75% the regular amount in this room.
The bonus shape changes every 25 seconds or so. The Enchantment Guardian also calls out the bonus shape as it changes. Player can deposit orbs in the middle of the room: Every 20 will earn a reward of either three blood, death, or cosmic runes. To save time, choose the Deposit Hole option to deposit all orbs at once instead of selecting each orb and then depositing them one by one.
For each ten shapes converted, the player is rewarded a bonus: On converting the tenth shape, the arena will award points according to the level Free Runescape  of enchantment used to convert the tenth shape. For example, if the player cast Enchant Level 4 Jewellery to convert the tenth shape, four points will be awarded. Please note that dragonstones do not count as shapes, and the bonus for the tenth item will be given even if you enchant the incorrect shape.
While the shapes at first glance may appear to be randomly scattered into the four corners, the two corners of every side contains all four shapes. So a player needs only stay on one side of the arena to obtain all shape types, cutting down on run energy use.
Six dragonstones spawn around the room every five minutes, which players can enchant at any level. The stones give more bonus pizazz points depending on the level of enchantment the player uses. Points gained per dragonstone is equal to two times the enchantment level used; therefore, the maximum points available for enchanting one of the six dragonstones is 12, (using Enchant Level 6 Jewellery). Dragonstones can be used for quick pizazz points by enchanting all six, then changing worlds -causing the dragonstones to respawn- and repeating this process.
Below are the point values received upon enchanting dragonstones, (points awarded when enchanting a dragonstone depend upon the enchantment level used):

    Free Runescape History Arena Bot

The Mage Training Arena is a Magic minigame released 4 January 2006. It is a members-only area that is north of the Duel Arena and south of the Exam Centre. Using various spells, players earn pizazz points in different activities, which they can use to buy items in a shop on the top floor of the arena. An entrance guardian welcomes visitors to the training arena.

    History

After the discovery of Runes by humans in the early Fifth Age, many people wanted to train their magic to use powerful spells. But many accidents occurred as inexperienced mages attempted difficult spells. The wizards of the original Wizards' Tower decided to create an arena and the various guardians so that mages could safely train with the more mundane spells. This was when the first mage arena was born. Unfortunately it was destroyed by the Fremennik tribe during their Runecrafting Free Runescape Crusades between years 42-62, as they were angered by the new art of magic and the creation of runes. After the crusades the wizards' tower itself was burnt down by Zamorakians, but years later the current head wizard of the tower, Sedridor, decided to rebuild the mage training arena. Today, the arena is full of guardians and charmed warriors to defend the arena against further attacks.

    Requirements

Players need a minimum of level 7 Magic to participate in this minigame, although that will allow the use of only a single spell. At level 33 Magic (required for Telekinetic Grab), a player can participate in all 4 activities. Level 87 (enchant onyx) will allow players to use all spells in all areas of the minigame. The higher the level of Magic, the more experience points the player will receive.
Players also need to either wear or have in their inventory a Progress hat, which can be obtained from the Entrance Guardian. Players should not destroy or lose their hat, as it keeps track of Pizazz points earned in each room. Talk to the cranky Progress hat to learn Pizazz point totals for each room.
Clue scrolls, caskets, and summoning familiars are not allowed inside the rooms. Coins are not allowed in the Alchemists' Playground. Bananas and Peaches are not allowed in the Creature Graveyard.

    Rooms

The Mage Training Arena offers four rooms for the player to practice casting Alchemy, Enchantment, and Telekinetic Grab spells, and Creature Graveyard. In addition to Pizazz points, the player earns coins and runes in the activities. Players must acquire the appropriate number of Pizazz points in each of the four rooms to buy items from the Rewards Guardian.

    Telekinetic Theatre

In this room, players can speak with the Telekinetic Guardian, who can explain how the Telekinetic Theatre works. Players use the telekinetic grab spell to move a statue north, south, east, or west through a maze. To move the statue, players must stand on the side of the maze they wish to draw the statue toward and then cast telekinetic grab on the statue.
Players do not have to be squared up with the statue to attract it, as seen in the picture to the right, casting the spell from anywhere on the side the player is standing will draw the statue toward that side. Casting the spell from a corner of the maze wastes a law rune without moving the statue.
A maze can take anywhere from seven to ten moves (and law runes) to complete. To get a better view of the maze and where the statue is moving, choose the Observe Guardian statue option on the statue to get an aerial view of the statue's position within the maze.
Once the player casts the spell, the player will be unable to move while the spell effect is in the air. After the spell activates and the statue starts sliding, the player will be able to move again.
If players make a wrong move with the Free Runescape bots Guardian statue, they can choose "reset guardian statue" to return it to its starting position. When the player solves a maze, they will be rewarded with two pizazz points. The player can then talk to the Maze Guardian to teleport to another maze, if they wish to do so. After solving five mazes in a row, the player will get a bonus of 8 pizazz points, 10 law runes, and 1,000 magic experience. Thus, the player gains roughly 3,000 magic experience per five mazes completed.
If the player logs out before completing a maze, when they log back in, they will have to start the maze they were working on from the beginning. However, if the player leaves the room or even the arena, the room remembers the player's completed maze count when they return.
To approximate the magic experience gained for each five mazes solved, one could assume a cost of ten law runes per maze or 50 law runes for every five mazes completed, which is 78.75 magic exp per law rune used and makes 1 pizzaz point worth 411 coins.

    Introduction

Magic is a versatile skill and can be used to make money, kill other people or monsters and much more. The spells you can perform can be divided into two categories: harmful and non-harmful. The harmful spells are used to kill monsters or other players, and the non-harmful ones to make your Free RuneScape Account life easier. The harmful spells can be divided into strikes, bolts, blasts and waves, but there are also other harmful spells with their own effects. The non-harmful spells include teleportation spells, alchemy spells and enchanting spells, but also include several spells with their own unique effects.
Magic Spells can be accessed through your spell book tab. The spell book tab allows you to change the display order of spells (such as by level (default), teleport spells first, or combat spells first), hide certain categories of spells, set a spell to autocast, and toggle the option of receiving defensive experience.

If you are just starting out in Magic you may want to pay a visit to Roddeck the Advisor located in the building just east of the Lumbridge General Store to learn about the different kinds of runes and magical spells as well as various other tips. You can train your Magic level safely by casting spells on the dummies in the nearby building. You are unable to cast spells on the dummies after you reach the Magic level of 10. To begin your Magic training, you can receive 30 free mind runes and 30 free air runes from Aubury’s Rune Shop in Varrock.

    The runes

In order to cast a spell, you need runes in your inventory which will be used to cast the spell. Below is a list of all the runes, what they look like and where they spawn:

There are several ways to obtain runes in RuneScape. You can make them yourself using the runecrafting Free Runescape  skill, or buy them from fellow players, or get them from killing certain monsters. (If you want fire runes, for example, search that phrase in the Tip.It bestiary to see the monsters that drop them.)
Also, several shops throughout RuneScape sell runes, although they may be at a higher price than those bought from players. Check out the Shop DB entries below to view the stock of each store.
Note: Be aware that not all shops sell every type of rune. The rarer ones (cosmic and above) may not be sold in some shops. There are only two stores in the Free-to-Play (F2P) world: Aubury's in Varrock, south of the east bank and the second is Betty's in Port Sarim.

    Levels 7-29

At level 7, Enchant Level 1 Jewellery can be made in a Player-owned house. You will need soft clay and the specific runes depending on which spell you would like to create. For profit per tablet analysis, see Calculators/Tablet. It requires access to a player-owned house, so go to World 31 (House Party) if you don't have one for whatever reason. The Yanille house portal has the closest bank to a portal. If you don't want to take the hassle of buying often expensive soft clay, try blasting the lesser demon at the Wizards' Tower.
At level 19, you may want to try casting Curse on monsters with -65 magic attack bonus, as this will prevent it from hitting, while still giving experience, and allowing it to be cast again instantly. The Monk of Zamorak caged under the stairs in Varrock Palace and the lesser demon caged on the top floor of the Wizards' Tower are good targets, as they cannot move. It is advised not to try this method on monsters that can fight back, as you may risk death. This method can get you roughly 26,000 XP per hour.
Once level 20 or above has been reached, go to the Lumbridge Catacombs and use magic on the Skeletons there. This can use up a lot of runes very fast though, but it is a very fast way to level up.
Low Level Alchemy can be cast from level 21, giving a maximum of 62k experience per hour, making it the fastest experience by far until approximately level 40. Players should expect to pay roughly the cost of a Nature rune for each cast, making it cost approximately 4g/xp. Players keen on efficiency may want to make these casts while training gathering skills such as Fishing or Woodcutting to minimize banking time involved with these skills.
Also for people of high combat level who are doing the Holy Grail quest, its a good idea to train with the Black Knight Titan, from level 1-25.

    Levels 29-39

At level 29, cast Earth Bolt to level 33. At level 33, you can use Telekinetic Grab in the basement of west Varrock bank and take the gold ore, the gold necklace, the gold bar, the brass necklace, and all of the coins. This method doesn't require combat and offers some things to sell. Alternatively, one may also choose to collect Wine of Zamorak, as this is highly valued by high-level herblorists. Again, you can use Telekinetic grab in the Telekinetic Theatre of the Mage Training Arena for Pizazz points, which can be traded for Infinity robes if the player has also earned points in the other rooms. This can easily save you lots of time when you plan to earn pizazz points in the future, as this particular way of training involves lots of clicking and can be very long. Also, you can go to the top floor of the Wizards Tower where people often train on the lesser demon trapped there and seldom bother with the loot. Use telegrab to grab some of the more valuable loot like ashes, herbs, chaos/death runes and some of the more expensive melee equipment.
Once you have reached level 39, you may choose to use Crumble Undead on Skeletons in the Varrock Sewers, Taverley Dungeon, or Shilo Village or the Shades in Shades of Mort'ton (activity) or the Stronghold of Security. The experience you get is higher than from a Fire bolt, which needs a Chaos rune too. Word of warning, this is a combat method and can risk death.

    Levels 40-69

After reaching level 40, you may use the Sacred Clay robes and/or magic staff rewards obtained from Stealing Creation to double the experience received from casting any combat spell. This works with curse/stun training very well as it does with Ancient Magicks. However, each Stealing Creation game is 20 minutes, so this method could take some time.
At 40+ you may want to try Conquest if you do not want to sit and click and do the same thing for a while, you can try out your own setup to see what works best. You can also use the points you get for pieces of void armour and the void mace or level up, attack, strength, range, or prayer along with magic. You can also make money doing this by staking [but its not recommended till you know what you're doing] but overall its seems to go by faster than regular training.
Upon reaching level 43, you may try to purchase all ores required at the Grand Exchange to smith Steel, Mithril, Adamantite, or Runite bars; equip a Fire staff, or Mindspike; and use the spell Superheat Item to smelt into bars. This is the fastest way to train Magic and Smithing simultaneously, with relatively little cost to small profit. A profit can be made when smelting mithril/rune bars. When Smithing Steel bar it is advised to set magic book to teleport spells first and do not show miscellaneous, for (with nature runes in top left of inventory and 9 iron withdrawn first)then it is possible to convert all ores to bars without moving the mouse. This requires no minimum Smithing level, but level 30 Smithing minimum is advised for making a Steel Bar.
At level 45 you may want to try repeatedly cast Camelot Teleport. By using an Air staff, only one Law rune will be used for this popular training method. This spell can be cast at a relatively fast rate, with a gain of 55.5 magic experience per spell. Alternatively, using a lectern in either your own or another player's house allows you to make Camelot Teleport Tablets. Using the lectern method makes a considerable profit (200k+ per 1,000 tabs made) but is 25-33% slower than casting the spell repeatedly.

    Free Runescape Training tips

Any of the stat requirements listed here can be met with the aid of a Wizard's Mind Bomb or Magic potion. This however is not recommended for long periods of training, due to the constant need to use the drink/potion. The Free Runescape Vecna skull has an unlimited amount of uses and boosts your Magic level by 6 temporarily; the downside is that once it is used, the cooldown period is hardset to 6 minutes (roughly the same amount of time it takes for the boost to wear off, plus whatever leftover ticks there are as the skull observes real time rather than the stat ticks), regardless of how your stats change after you've used it. Therefore, usage of the skull is recommended once the spell's level is within four or less levels of yours, as a wider gap will leave a considerable amount of waiting time and much less time actually spent being able to cast the desired spell. The skull also has a cost of 687873 coins, and it is up to the player whether or not this cost is justifiable. Many high level players may consider this to be worth it since they have already paid a comparable, if not larger sum for the runes to train magic, and the skull's nondegrading nature allows it to be resold if necessary.
Find the right training method for you. Some people get bored after minutes of one activity while others can stick at it until level 99. Try different methods to see which works best for you to get to your desired level.
Some spells can be trained at the same time. For instance, you can alternate between casts of stun and high alchemy. This can significantly increase training speed because you can cast the second spell immediately after the first, whereas when casting only 1 spell you must wait a certain amount of game ticks before casting it again. Note that the amount of game ticks must still pass before you cast either spell a second time. This click pattern will also be significantly more complicated, but helps to make more experience points. If you intend to be a magic pure, do not attempt any combat spells, which will give Constitution experience as well.

    Magic Training Methods

All the methods detailed are those that people have used and feel that others would benefit from. This is not strictly a guide, just advice, and nearly all the methods listed need each and everyone's little tweaks to make them work for you so use all the methods listed Free Runescape wisely and plan them out carefully.

    Levels 1

Wind Rush is the only combat spell that does not require any catalytic runes. By equipping a platebody, some platelegs and a kiteshield of any metal, plus a staff of air, one can achieve 1-99 magic by casting Wind rush on the Monk of Zamorak in Varrock Castle, Blue Dragon in Taverley Dungeon, or the Lesser Demon in the Wizard Tower in ~168days - ~96 days , gaining 3240-5640xp an hour. This is the cheapest method of magic-training, as you only use 1500gp (Store bought Staff of Air) as F2P and completely free (Mindspike) as P2P, up to level 99, but it is the longest method.

    Free Runescape Attack Armour

How do I use the calculator?
To use the skills calculator, simply enter a starting set of experience and a goal, and the calculator will provide information on what must be done to reach the goal.
    • Users can enter a username and retrieve their highscores stats by clicking the "Retrieve Highscores XP" button. This username will be saved and the calculator automatically retrieves experience when it is loaded. Goal XP and Level requirements are automatically set to the next level for the given user when this is done. Please note that any stats that are not ranked on the RuneScape highscores will NOT be retrieved by this utility, and must be entered manually!

    • Using the dropdown box at the top right, users can freely change between skills without loading a different calculator. Skill experience levels and goals are stored separately for each calculator -- switching back to a previous skill will restore the old values.

    • The calculator can determine how many trips are required of an action based on the amount of actions per trip. For example, 4 trips are required if mining 100 iron ore at 28 ore per trip.

    • Three types of goals may be selected from the dropdown box at the top center -- a goal amount of experience, a goal level, or a goal number of actions. Goal experience and level will show the amount of actions and trips required; goal actions will show the final experience and level, as well as the total trips required.

    • Users can use the Mix and Match utility at the bottom of the list of item or actions types in each calculator to select multiple items or actions to perform. Users can also enter ratios: For example, farming 20 yew trees for every 8 papaya trees and 1 calquat tree. When using the Goal Actions function, this mode will show the experience gain from each type of item or action instead of the resultant total.

    • On the right side of the calculator, a progress bar shows how close the user is to achieving a goal amount of experience or a goal level, starting from level 1. In goal actions, this is always zero, assuming the user has just begun.

    • Just above the lists of action iterations and trips is an experience bonus dropdown list. For most skills, there is no bonus at all, but for some, notably the combat skills, there are experience bonuses. Note that for combat styles such as attack or ranging, this must be used to select the appropriate combat style; otherwise, the calculator will fail to provide all of the experience gain per action.

    • When looking at the list of currently-shown actions or items, the names are color-coded based on the user's level. Actions shown in green can be performed at the current level, even on free-to-play worlds. Actions shown in yellow can be performed, but only on a members-only world. Actions shown in red require a higher level. Actions requiring quests or other skills may erroneously appear green or yellow if one of the requirements have been met; an example of this is with armour stands in construction and smithing.

    • Extra notes: Some calculators may have additional information that is provided beyond the information for each calculator. For example, the Free Runescape Runecraft skill calculator will display to users the amount of runes they will make while reaching their goal, and combat calculators will display both the slayer and combat levels of monsters that may be killed.

    Free Runescape Crafting Pottery

    Intro

Crafting is not the most practiced skill in Free RuneScape, and it is rumoured that it is hard to train, and very boring. But don't let the rumours stop you! This is one of the funniest skills, and there are a lot of different things to do! Like making ranging armours, staffs, glass, pots, bowls, necklaces, rings, and much more!

However, lots of the things that are possible to make in crafting, are only available to members.
Items needed in crafting, like moulds, needle and threads can be bought from a crafting shop. Crafting shops can be found in:
    • Al-Kharid
    • Rimmington
    • Marim on Ape Atoll (members only)

Also, remember to check out our Crafting training guide for tips, methods and hints to train!

NOTE: All cells with a white background, is available to both free playersand members, and blue background is only for members.

Pots, Pie dishes, Bowls and Pot Lids can all be made in crafting. These items are used in the Cooking skill, and are made with clay. Clay is obtainable by Mining. Once you've obtained your clay, there are three steps to make the items:
    1. You have to soften the clay. First, use a bucket or a jug on a water source, like a fountain or sink. Then use the jug of water or bucket of water on the clay. Once you've done that, you will obtain Soft Clay.
    2. Go to a potters wheel, which can either be found in:
      - Barbarian Village
      - Crafting Guild
      - East Ardougne (members only)
      - Digsite (members only)
      - Rellekka (members only)
Use your soft clay on the wheel to make a Pot, a Pie Dish, a Bowl or a Pot Lid.
    3. Now, you have to heat your unfired item. Use it on a Pottery Oven, and it will be fired. If you're unlucky, the Free Runescape item will crack and be useless.

    Leather and Dragonhides.

Normal Leather and Dragonhides have to be tanned before they can be used. Note that Dragonhides only can be crafted by Members, and free players can only wear Green Dragonhide items.
    Tanners can be found in:
    • Al-Kharid
    • Crafting Guild
    • Canifis (members only)
    • Ranging Guild (members only)
But tanning isn't free, you will have to pay a small fee do get it done. The prices are:
    • Soft Leather: 1 GP per leather
    • Hard Leather: 2 GP per leather
    • Dragonhides: 20 GP per hide
Note that the tanner in Canifis is slightly more expensive.

You will also need to use a needle and thread to make something out of the tanned leather / hide. You will only need one needle, but the thread can only be used for some of the hides, and then it will disappear.

Soft Leather, Hard Leather, Studded Leather Armour

Leather work is an easy way to gain experience from level 1. To get leather, follow these steps:
    1. Get a Cow Hide, which is dropped from all cows
    2. Tan it (Read above if you don't know how)
    3. Use a needle and thread to make something out of the tanned hide.
Soft leather is used for all leather items except Hard Leather Body, which needs Hard Leather. Studded leather armour are made by making studs out of steel bar and using the studs on regular leather armour.

    free Runescape Magic XP Calculator

    • First, enter your RuneScape username into the "Your Username" field, and then click the "Fetch Stats" button to retrieve your stats from the Free RuneScape Highscores. You must be ranked in the highscores to use this feature. Alternatively, you can enter either your current level or your current XP into their respective fields.
    • Next, enter your goal. Use the dropdown to select whether your goal is a certain level, an amount of experience, or a specific number of actions. Then enter the goal value in the next field.
    • The goal bar will be updated with your current percentage of progress on your selected goal. The table of Actions will also be updated accordingly, displaying the number of actions you must complete for Level and XP goals, or the Total XP, Final XP, and Level Achieved for goals consisting of completing a certain number of actions.
    • The right side of the calculator interface allows for some additional filtering options, including filtering by a certain category of Actions, filtering out Members-only Actions, and filtering out Actions that you cannot perform at your current level.
    • If there are bonus effects associated with this calculator, you can select one or more bonuses to apply to the experience calculations.
    • The "Pick My Own Plan" option allows you to select your own set of Actions to display, making it easy to compare a certain collection of Actions with one another.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    • Either enter your FreeRuneScape username and press "Get stats!", or manually enter your current experience. Then select either "Target Level" or "Target XP" and enter your target level or experience value.

    INTERPRETING

    • Each row in the calculator's output represents a certain spell. 'Number' is how many times you need to cast that spell to reach your target. 'Name' is simply the name of the spell. 'Lvl' is the minimum Magic level you need to cast the spell. 'Exp' is the amount of experience gained for casting the spell.

    COLOURS

    • Green shows what you can access up to your target level.
    • Yellow is what you will be able to access at your target level.
    • Red marks things out of reach for now.

    DAMAGE SPELLS

    • The experience values given for spells that deal damage in the "All Spells" category are average values. For example, Fire Blast has a maximum hit of 160, so on average it would do 80 damage per hit, which results in 34.5 + 16 = 50.5 experience per cast. If you wish to adjust your damage output to account for misses and damage-boosting equipment, use the "Damage Spells" category instead.

    SPELL TABS

    • Making spell tabs in the study of a player-owned house awards the same amount of experience as casting the spell itself. For example, either making a Lumbridge teleport tab or casting the Lumbridge Teleport spell awards 41 experience.
